"The Dusk" and its companion piece, "The Dawn", were modeled after two close friends of mine. These portraits consider the quietness of hope and beauty we carry.

Like "The Dawn", I constructed this piece to have a cavernous feeling within the body.

In this work, the process of chainsaw was predominately about removing excess material to arrive at the silhouette.

"The Dusk" provided an opportunity to explore how the realization of a portrait could communicate more deeply about an individual.
